Born in Calcutta and now based in Lincoln, United Kingdom, Somrwita has been writing since the age of six. Books became her playground when sports were off-limits due to childhood asthma.
In 2024 she returned to university to formalise and deepen her craft, enrolling in the MA Creative Writing programme at the University of Lincoln. Her work draws on a life lived across continents — of cultures, people and causes she has engaged with as an entrepreneur and a philanthropist.
Her work explores postcolonial identity, memory, and migration. She sees the page as not only a place to tell stories but also a way to connect worlds.
As of 2026 she serves as the Managing Editor of The Lincoln Review.

Somrwita Guha’s short story “The Other Side” appeared in the Spring ’26 issue of Tint Journal.
Written with a quiet attentiveness to memory and absence, the story traces the emotional landscape of a child grappling with loss. Somrwita was nine when she lost her grandmother. While the story is not autobiographical, it borrows its emotional center from her first encounter with death.
